| Theres been some debate about if you can call cosplaying from films such as Star Wars cosplaying. Personally I consider cosplaying as adopting an existing character and dressing like them. So to me I dont see a difference what do you guys think? | |

| cosplay is costume roleplay isn't it? I don't see the difference to be fair as long as you adopt the character you become and such. | |

| I agree, if you're dressing up as a character whether it's from an anime, manga, film or even a book I still think it's cosplay | |

| I think the issue comes from 'cosplay' being a term coined to describe anime, manga and gaming costuming. I was just wondering what people felt about it all ^_^ | |

| Hehe since most of my characters arent from anime or manga i say yes!
though i think it only works if that character has a recognisable costume. for e.g. blade has a costume, something he wears in many scenes of the film. Iv'e seen some people cosplay Twilight....and it doesnt work because they don't have 'costumes' so i'd say no for that.

It just doesnt work when they look too much like everyday wear.

| Twilight cosplay? Sounds utterly thrilling and imaginative, much like the books themselves.
I also support the BNP and fox hunting.
I've never thought of cosplay as exclusively anime/manga or gaming.
If more people had read it, I'd suggest doing a Ravnica (Magic the Gathering novel series) cosplay, which would be wintastic, even though it's not a film... Totally dibbsed Jarad vod Savo straight off the bat.

| well, you know me - any old costume'll do. but seriously, any recognizable character counts as a cosplay in my book, as it is costume roleplay, as Fox said. Though, honestly, Twilight Cosplay? I think i'd need to be packing stakes and holy water for that. Remember Bela Lagosi - because real vampires don't sparkle!! | |

| I definitely think film cosplay counts, and anything else where you're dressing like/acting like a character. I have a few characters from films I'd like to cosplay myself. | |
